How to find journals and journal articles

  • Use OneSearch to search a range of our resources in one search
  • Use an Integrated Design database which indexes journal articles by subject.
  • Search for Integrated Design journals by title.   You will find both print and electronic journals in the UWA collection. If online access is available why not search within the journal by using its search function?

Find information resources using databases

Search the following databases to find information (e.g. journal articles) on your subject. A full list of Integrated Design related resources can be found on our Integrated Design databases page.

  • ARCH: Australian architecture database
    Indexes articles from materials held by the Stanton Library, North Sydney Council. Subject coverage includes articles on Australian architects, architecture, building, interior design and landscape architecture.
  • Wilson Art Full Text  
    Indexes over 300 art periodicals and contains full text from over 100 journals going back to 1997. Subjects include architecture, archaeology and the history of art, as well as crafts, costume and textiles.
  • ARTstor
    An online repository of hundreds of thousands of digital images and related data covering art, architecture, and a range of multidisciplinary topics. NOTE: you need to register with Artstor to save images and access full functionality.
  • Avery index to architectural periodicals
    Covers architecture in its broadest sense including archaeology, historic preservation, decorative arts, interior decoration, furniture, landscape architecture and urban planning and environmental studies.
  • Bibliography of the History of Art
    Contains references to journal articles, conference proceedings and dissertations, exhibition and dealers’ catalogues. Covers painting, sculpture, drawing, prints, architecture, decorative and applied arts, crafts, graphic arts, and folk and popular art
  • Design & applied arts index
    Design and Applied Arts Index (DAAI) includes abstracts and bibliographic records for articles, news items, and reviews published in design and applied arts periodicals from 1973 onwards. DAAI covers both new designers and the development of design and the applied arts since the mid-19th century, surveying disciplines including ceramics, glass, jewellery, wood, metalsmithing, graphic design, fashion and clothing, textiles, furniture, interior design, architecture, computer aided design, Web design, computer-generated graphics, animation, product design, industrial design, garden design, and landscape architecture.
    JSTOR provides electronic full text of complete back sets of over a thousand major journals in a range of disciplines.
  • ProQuest art, design and architecture collection
    Access to 9 databases, including ARTbibliographies Modern (ABM), Design and Applied Arts Index (DAAI), International Bibliography of Art (IBA). Includes citations and full text articles covering the arts
  • RIBA Library online catalogue
    Index to articles in over 300 architectural periodicals, details of books and audio visual materials acquired by the Royal Institue of British Architects Library. It also indexes the holdings of the RIBA Library Photographs Collection, the RIBA Library Drawings and Archives Collections and a biographical database of architects. This resource can be accessed through OneSearch.
  • Web of Knowledge  
    ISI Web of knowledge is a platform for searching individual ISI products or multiple products simultaneously. Access is to Web of science, Current contents connect and Journal citation reports
