○ marking and feedback.

At UWA, Turnitin is available through the Learning Management System (LMS).

Turnitin, when used in partnership with other academic integrity resources (like STUDYSmarterAcademic Conduct Essentials and Communication and Research Skills) can assist students to develop their skills and a better ethical awareness of academic integrity. Turnitin can also help staff to more effectively assess written work, making assignments more engaging and relevant in a teaching and learning context.

Why use Turnitin?

Turnitin is a valuable online assessment tool for both teaching staff and students.

  • OriginalityCheck - Turnitin enables teaching staff and their students to check any written work against a massive content database including 45+ billion web pages, 130+ million journal articles, and 150+ million student papers. This includes content from publishers including Sage, Emerald, Gale, and EBSCO.

An Originality Report can be generated in which the system identifies what proportion of the text in a student's submission matches existing text found in the content database.
